Vecom were called in at the design stage. All the stainless steel was polished to the established Ra specifications and because the bridge was constructed of both stainless steel and carbon steel the risk of cross contamination was realized.

Post fabrication passivation and a final on site pre handover clean ensured that rust would not be a problem.
